The Jakarta Provincial Government has ensured that prices of basic goods remain stable one day ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri, with key commodities such as rice, chicken, vegetables, and meat still under control based on daily monitoring.
"There is no significant spike ahead of Eid,"
Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs (PPKUKM) Agency Head Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo noted the price stability reflects stronger distribution and sufficient stock ahead of Eid.
"On the eve of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri, prices of basic goods in Jakarta remain stable. There have been increases in several commodities, but they are still within a reasonable range and have not affected people's purchasing power," she stated, Friday (3/20).
Jakarta's food price data shows that rice prices remain relatively stable with only slight increases. IR I rice is priced between Rp15,000 and Rp15,600 per kilogram, IR II around Rp14,500, and IR III at about Rp13,500. Premium rice such as Setra I ranges between Rp16,300 and Rp16,400 per kilogram.
"This indicates that rice supply in Jakarta is relatively secure and distribution is running well. There is no significant spike ahead of Eid," she added.
For animal protein, chicken meat is priced at around Rp45,000 per kilogram with a slight increase. Beef ranges between Rp140,000 and Rp155,000 per kilogram depending on the cut, while goat meat remains relatively stable at around Rp151,000 per kilogram and has even seen a slight decline.
Meanwhile, chili commodities recorded the most significant price increases. Red bird's eye chili has reached around Rp115,000 per kilogram, while curly red chili and large red chili have also risen.
"Chili prices have seen a significant increase, largely influenced by weather and distribution factors, making them more volatile. However, we continue to carry out market interventions to maintain stability," Ratu explained.
On the other hand, bulk cooking oil is priced between Rp20,000 and Rp21,000 per kilogram, slightly higher but still under control. Other commodities such as eggs, onions, and vegetables remain relatively stable despite minor increases.
Ratu added that, following the Jakarta governor's directive, the agency continues efforts to ensure sufficient food supply through the post-Eid period. Measures include holding affordable food bazaars at 43 locations across Jakarta, inter-regional cooperation, and real-time distribution monitoring.
"We assure the public there is no need to worry. Food supplies remain sufficient, prices are under control, and we will continue monitoring even after Eid al-Fitr," she said.
