Jakarta Provincial Government is about to hold Car Free Night along Jalan MH Thamrin up to Sudirman on Friday (3/20) starting 8 PM up to 10 PM. The event is held to celebrate Eid eve.

Carrying the theme “Eid Mubarak Jakarta: Rhythm of Fountain”, this series of events is held to enliven the HI Roundabout area with various attractions such as rampak beduk, 1,000 beduk festival, 5,000 torch parade participants, to visual attractions such as dancing fountain, lighting show, laser show, and flying LED show.

Moreover, a religious nuance will also be felt through the tausiyah delivered by Ustadz Akri and a special appearance by Hadad Alwi.

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung said this activity is a breakthrough to provide a new experience for residents in enjoying takbiran night.

"I agreed that the Car Free Night will be held from 8 PM to 10 PM," he said, Thursday (3/19).

Besides being an entertainment for the public, this activity is also part of the 'Mudik ke Jakarta' program, which invites the public to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in a more open, warm, and inclusive atmosphere in the capital.

To support the smooth running of the event, the Jakarta Provincial Government will implement traffic engineering with strict restrictions on private vehicles on a number of roads around the event location.

Pramono added that private vehicles are prohibited from passing during the event to ensure visitor comfort and safety. However, Transjakarta services will continue to operate as normal to facilitate visitor mobility.

"Transjakarta continues to operate so that people can continue their activities and enjoy events," he stated.

The Jakarta Provincial Government also invites all residents to celebrate Takbiran night in an orderly and collaborative manner. It is hoped that this occasion will not only be a celebration but also a space to strengthen a sense of brotherhood amidst Jakarta's diversity.
