The Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) proposed commissioner replacement. This is because the current formation is deemed already too long.
Commissioner replacement was from Jakarta KPU. So we granted it
"Commissioner replacement was from Jakarta KPU. So we granted it," expressed Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Wednesday (1/13).
He disclosed, the authority to replace KPU commissioner lies in Jakarta Provincial Government. Beforehand, there must be a proposal from Jakarta KPU first.
Currently, Jakarta KPU is led by Sumarno, with four members are Dahlia Umar, M Fadillah, Betty Epsilon Idroos, and Moch Sidik.
In the upcoming 2017, the city is about to hold regional elections (pilkada) simultaneously. Basuki also denies such replacement related with the upcoming Pilkada.
