Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency is currently dredging mud sedimentation from 75 reservoirs and 13 major rivers. Ahead of rainy season, SDA Agency will increase capacity of several reservoirs and rivers in Jakarta.

"From 5 municipalities, we are currently dredging 50-75 reservoirs and 13 major rivers in Jakarta. Also small rivers in villages," said Juaini, Head of SDA Agency, while inspecting mud dredging at Ria Rio Reservoir, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on Monday (9/21).
Mud dredging, he continued, would
be carried out massively in all Jakarta regions until end of this year to increase capacity of rivers and reservoirs. About 8,000 personnel have been deployed for this dredging project by implementing health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic."Personnel will work optimally to reduce or prevent flooding in Jakarta until end of this year," he asserted.
