As many as 16 independent public kitchens were set up to meet the food needs of flood victims in Makassar Sub-district area, on Tuesday (2/25).

" The point is they always help us when disaster occurs"

Makasar Sub-district Head Kamal Alatas said, when flood occurred, the Jakarta Provincial Government was always present to help citizen. That was from starting from the early warning, conduct the evacuation process, prepare refuge camp, provide aid in the form of food, medicine, public kitchen, etc.

"The point is they always help us when disaster occurs," he expressed.

He explained that the raw materials for 16 public kitchens in his area were supplied from each urban village and non-governmental organization.

Those 16 public kitchens were located in houses belong to RT 11/02 Chairman, RW 05 Chairman and citizen in RT 11/06, Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, in RT 02/06, RW 05, 07 and 08, Halim Perdanakusuma Urban Village.

Until this afternoon, the number of refugees in Makasar Sub-district was recorded 4,172 people in the refugee camps in Halim Perdanakusuma, Makasar, Pinang Ranti and Kebon Pala urban villages. The refugee locations include in Borobudur University Mosque, RW 04 Post and Al Muqorobin Mosque, Cipinang Melayu.

While the evacuation process itself was done by joint officers, consisting of Satpol PP, Fire and Rescue Sub-agency, Water Resources Sub-agency, Environment Sub-agency, army/police and PPSU. Then logistic aid that has been distributed was mats, UHT milk, mineral water, clothes, diapers and baby biscuits, etc.

As for the information, the flood in Cipinang Melayu area itself until 6 AM gradually receded.
