Mandiri Jakarta Marathon is ready to be held on Sunday (10/25). This year participants number is reaching 15 thousand people. Several athletes from 53 countries will enliven this event.

Arief Yahya, Tourism Minister, said that the start and finish line is still the same with previous year, in Silang Monas Barat Daya, Jakarta.

The event will hold five categories such as 42.195 km marathon, 21 km half marathon, 10k (10 km), and maratoonz (children's sprint).

"About 15 thousand people from 53 countries have registered to this event. This is a positive result for us" he said, Thursday (10/22).

Several national athletes such as Agus Prayogo, Atjong Tio Purwanto, Ishari, Nikolas Albinus Sila, Sukarno, Triyaningsih, Feri Marince Subnafeu, Nyai Agita, Yluaningsih, and Novita Andrayani will also participate.

Moreover, the elite runners to enliven the event are Weldon Kirui (Kenya) and Andrea Sambu Sipe (Tanzania).

Firmaansyah Wahid, Jakarta Head Dept. of Sport and Youth, stated that the total prize is Rp 2.6 billion.

"It is hoped the prize will stimulate the marathon future in Indonesia," he stated.
