Four personnel of Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency with two floating pumps handled inundation on Jalan Petamburan 1 Tanah Abang, Thursday (1/29).
around 30 centimeters
Head of Tanah Abang District's Water Resources Unit, Eli Menawan Sari said the flooding in residential areas was triggered by high rainfall intensity that had been going on since early morning.
"The initial height of the flood was around 30 centimeters and until this afternoon it had gradually receded by around 20 centimeters," she said.
She added that handling was carried out by pumping out the puddles at around 11 PM after the water level in the West Flood Canal decreased.
She is optimistic that the 20-square-meter floodwaters at this location will recede completely by the afternoon if the rain does not return and the water level in the West Flood Canal does not rise.
"The situation in several vulnerable locations is still safe, there is no flooding," she stated.
