Transjakarta services underwent operational adjustments on Thursday morning (1/29) as heavy rainfall triggered flooding and traffic gridlock across various parts of the city.
The situation stems from floodwaters
The agency implemented these modifications to keep both commuters and its fleet out of harm's way
Transjakarta Public Department and CSR Head, Ayu Wardhani noted that commuters are stuck in a jam as services face delays, diversions, and truncated routes.
"The situation stems from floodwaters and traffic bottlenecks that continue to clog up main thoroughfares," she said.
Transjakarta has tweaked 28 routes to weather the storm, with 22 routes being directly caught in the crosshairs of the flooding. This includes 19 Mikrotrans lines, two feeder routes, and one BRT corridor.
Three other service zones are also feeling the pinch, seeing major delays as traffic and floods create a perfect storm for travel disruptions.
She added, Transjakarta is monitoring field conditions around the clock and is working hard to get services back on track as soon as possible.
"We sincerely apologize for the travel disruptions and any inconvenience caused to our passengers," she concluded.
Commuters are encouraged to stay in the loop with real-time updates via the TJ: Transjakarta app and by following official social media handles on X (@pt_transjakarta) and Instagram (@infotije).
