The revitalization of water channel along 35 meters on Jalan Bantar Jati, RT 02/04, Setu Urban Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, is completed.

This work was carried out as an effort to increase the environmental drainage capacity so that it can accommodate water during the rainy season.

Head of Cipayung District's Water Resources, Dian Kartika said the channel improvement involved eight personnel.

"The water channel was revitalized using 40-centimeter U-ditch concrete. Work began in early January 2026 and was completed last week," he said, Monday (1/26).

She explained the previous drainage system was extremely inadequate, using only PVC pipes and brickwork approximately 20-30 centimeters wide. As a result, the channel was unable to accommodate high water discharge during heavy rain, causing flooding.

One of the local residents, Faisal (47), thanked the water resources unit for responding to the request.

"Hopefully this will be useful for local residents and there will be no more flooding when it rains," he hoped.
