The Sahabat pedestrian bridge repair on Jalan Daan Mogot, Cengkareng, West Jakarta is completed.

Head Section of Road, Bridge and Facilities for West Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency, Khairul Imam said the upper iron plate of the pedestrian bridge measuring approximately 1x2 meters was missing and is suspected to have been stolen when floods hit the area some time ago.

"After the flood receded, we received reports from the public," he said, Monday (1/26).

He added that the CCTV installed on the pedestrian bridge is not functioning because the connecting cable is broken or was deliberately cut by an irresponsible party.

According to him, not only was the pedestrian bridge floor repaired, his party also replaced three iron plates on the stairs which were previously missing and only a few bolts remained.

"This action is very detrimental to the public because it endangers the safety of pedestrian bridge users. We urge residents to immediately report any sightings or encounters of anyone damaging or stealing public facilities," he added.
