Head of North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency, Heria Suwandi said previous heavy rainfall caused flooding on several roads and residential areas in the Kelapa Gading area. To expedite the receding floodwaters, all main pumping stations were operated at maximum capacity.
"The Artha Gading Pump Station, BGR Pump Station, Don Bosco Pump Station, and Betik Pump Station are all operational. We also operate mobile and portable pumps in areas prone to flooding," he said.
The pump placement is carried out based on the results of field monitoring so that the floodwater can be immediately channeled to the main channel and control reservoir.
According to him, this morning, the flooding on Jalan Hybrida was reported to have gradually receded, with the water level reaching around 10 centimeters. Meanwhile, the flooding in the residential area of RW 03, Pegangsaan Dua, has also begun to recede, with the water level reaching around 15 centimeters.
"We urge the public to remain vigilant and actively participate in flood prevention efforts, given the ongoing extreme weather in Jakarta. Please maintain a clean environment," he stated.
