It rained heavily
Head of Srengseng Urban Village, Adith Pratama said 30 centimeters of puddles on the road due to high intensity and prolonged rain.
"It rained heavily and for a long time. So the surrounding drains overflowed onto the access road at 7 AM. There was also some trash blocking the road, which we cleared away," he said, Thursday (1/22).
He added that his party deployed eight PPSU personnel assisted by a team from the West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency and officers from other elements to handle the inundation.
His party also asked the SDA to carry out suction using a portable water pump.
"The water resources sub-agency has already pumped it out. Once the rain stops, I'm sure this floodwater will recede soon," he added.
Zainudin (49), a local resident, admitted joint personnel have been deployed to the location. In addition to handling the flooding, they are also helping to regulate traffic to prevent congestion.
"The inundation will recede if the rain stops," he admitted.
