One of the efforts made by the Jakarta Provincial Government to reduce the impact of extreme rain is to carry out weather modification operations (OMC).

According to the Deputy Jakarta Governor, Rano Karno, the impact of extreme rain that triggers flooding will be more severe if weather modification operation is not carried out.

Rano said that recent rainfall conditions in the Jakarta area have reached almost 300 millimeters.

"It rained over 200 milliliters, almost 300 milliliters yesterday," he said, Tuesday (1/20).

When heavy rain occurred last week, Rano added, his team had made maximum efforts to overcome the impacts caused.

As an illustration, Rano continued, the public can see various efforts being made through social media platforms regarding widespread handling.

"Our Water Resources aren't even sleeping. They're all on standby, sleeping even in trucks and all sorts of places," he admitted
