A 170-meter drainage upgrade on Jalan Kebon Kacang 43 is in the pipeline for a late February finish. Tanah Abang’s Water Resources (SDA) Head, Eli Menawan Sari confirmed that the eight-person team is working around the clock to install concrete drainage units.

"We’ve been at it since January 12 and aim to cross the finish line by the end of next month," she expressed, Tuesday (1/20).

The project, which utilizes 40x40 cm precast concrete drains, is on track to be finished by late February.

Agus (36), a local resident, gave a thumbs up to the project, noting it was a direct follow-up from a Jakarta City Council member’s recess.

"I hope this upgrade puts an end to the overflows that frequently cause flooding in our area," he stated.
