Jakarta residents should keep their umbrellas handy as the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts a mix of cloudy skies and light showers across the capital today.

"Cloudy and rain in the morning," BMKG stated on its official website early Tuesday (1/20).

By midday, most of the city—including Central, North, South, and East Jakarta, as well as Seribu Islands—is expected to be under a blanket of clouds. Meanwhile, light rain will likely soak parts of West Jakarta.

The rain is expected to spread across the board by afternoon, with light showers hitting all administrative areas, including Seribu Islands.

As night falls, the rain is forecast to linger over Seribu Islands, while the rest of the mainland transitions back to overcast conditions.

Today's temperature ranges from 23 to 29 degrees Celsius, with air humidity between 68 and 97 percent.
