Channel improvement along 160 meters on Jalan Dwi Warna, Alley 1 RW 10 of Krang Anyar Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, is targeted for completion in mid February.

Head of Sawah Besar District's Water Resources Unit, Yusuf Sumardani, said the normalization involving 10 blue troop personnel is carried out since early January, following up on residents' aspirations voiced through the 2025 Musrenbang.

"Normalization is carried out by dismantling the old channel and replacing it using a 400 x 400 centimeter U-ditch concrete," he said, Monday (1/19).

Yusuf added that his party had to dismantle the channel because it had become so narrow that it could not optimally accommodate the water flow.

Agung (43), one of the residents, admitted the water in the channels has often overflowed when it rains heavily and for a long time.

"Hopefully, after normalization, the water flow will run smoothly and there will be no more puddles," he hoped.
