The Kalijodo connecting channel on Jalan Kelapa Dua Wetan, Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, Ciracas, East Jakarta, Tuesday (1/13), was cleaned by 50 joint personnel led by District Head, Panangaran Ritonga.

Ritonga said that the community service was carried out by cleaning up rubbish that was clogging the water channels.

"The mud is thick . We need to clean the mud to prevent inundation," he said.

He added that community service was carried out manually by clearing debris from the Kalijodo retaining wall and banks. Sedimentation will be carried out using heavy equipment.

"The sedimentation is quite thick, requiring heavy equipment. We plan to dredge the area the day after tomorrow," he added.

The activity involved 50 joint personnel of PPSU, Bina Marga, UPS Badan Air, City Park and Cemetery, Transportation Sub-agencies and up to Satpol PP.
