As many as 200 joint personnel conducted community service in Bukit Duri Urban Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta. This activity was part of the Jaga Jakarta program which aims to anticipate flooding, especially at vulnerable points.
maximize our community service
Head of Tebet District, Putut Puji Linangkung said the communal service was focused at RW 04 as the lowest area and prone to inundation.
"The position is lower than Jani River. When the Jani River is affected by water overflow from the Ciliwung River, the water enters residential areas," he said, Tuesday (1/13).
He explained that this community service focused on cleaning water channels at four points along the Jani River. They also pruned or trimmed trees on the riverbanks that were at risk of falling.
"The activity involved 200 joint personnel of various agencies," he added.
He then also invited the public to play an active role in maintaining environmental cleanliness.
Meanwhile, Head of Bukit Duri Urban Village, Sumarni stated the Jaga Jakarta Post must continue to be intensified, particularly in disaster management and public order, given the weather conditions, which are prone to heavy rain and strong winds.
"We will maximize our community service and I also ask residents to routinely carry out similar activities every week," he stated.
