As many as eight personnel of Makasar District's Water Resources Unit, East Jakarta are deployed to dredge water channel on Jalan Asem Nirbaya, Pinang Ranti Urban Village.

Head of Makasar District's Water Resources Unit, Nurdin said the dredging is carried out to address inundation in the area. The mud sediment blocked the channel flow.

"We deploy eight personnel starting today," he said.

His party will also build a control tank at the location. This is because some of the water channels have been blocked by residents to allow access to stalls or other business activities.

Construction of the control tank is scheduled to begin on Friday (1/9), along with the installation of a 60 centimeter U-ditch concrete cover.

He is targeting that all repair and drainage work will be completed by Monday (1/12) next week.

Meanwhile, Head of Pinang Ranti Urban Village, Nani Yuslina appreciated and thanked the channel improvement to address inundation precisely in front of Pinang Ranti Bus Terminal.

"The inundation could reach 50 cm during heavy rain," she admitted.
