Jakarta City Council Vice Chairman, Wibi Andrino has voiced his support for the new Taman Bendera Pusaka (National Flag Heritage Park), which is scheduled for a grand opening next month.
I personally intend to spend a lot of time there
"I personally intend to spend a lot of time there," he said, Friday (1/9).
The upcoming park highlights the Jakarta government's ongoing investment in premier public infrastructure.
"Speaking as someone who loves parks and is a regular runner and walker, this facility is a concrete manifestation of the city’s promise to deliver meaningful public spaces for its residents," he asserted, emphasizing the park’s role in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Previously, Governor Pramono Anung aimed for a February 2026 debut for the Bendera Pusaka Park in South Jakarta. The project was envisioned as a premier green icon that merged Langsat, Ayodia, and Leuser Parks into one unified space.
The 13.6-acre park included inter-connecting bridges and a nearly mile-long jogging track. It was intended to offer residents a new athletic venue to alleviate the high demand for the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) sports area.
