Seven personnel from Water Resources (SDA) Task Force of Kramat Jati Sub-district, East Jakarta, have been deployed to repair the collapsed retaining wall of the Batu Ampar Connecting (Phb) Channel on Jalan Layang Batu Zamrud, RT 14/02, Batu Ampar Urban Village.
"...is targeted for completion by this Friday,"
The repair is a follow up to residents' requests submitted via letter to Kramat Jati SDA Task Force.
One of the personnel, Viki Ramadhan, said the collapse occurred on both the left and right sides, spanning about five meters.
"The repair has been underway since January 5, 2026, and is targeted for completion by this Friday. So far, the progress has reached around 80 percent," he noted on Wednesday (1/7).
Viki explained that the collapsed retaining wall is being fixed by reinstalling river stones to reinforce and stabilize the structure.
Siti Zuriyah, from the Village Consultative Board (LMK) RW 02, Batu Ampar Village, mentioned that the damage had been noticeable for around a month.
"Residents were worried the damage would worsen and the road might collapse," she shared.
She appreciated the quick response from Kramat Jati SDA Task Force in addressing the residents' report.
"We appreciate their prompt action in repairing the retaining wall. Residents now feel safer and more at ease, especially when vehicles pass by," she expressed.
