Despite the end of the school holiday, a steady stream of travelers continues to pour into East Jakarta’s Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal.

The number of arrivals could exceed 1,000 by 11 PM

According to Revi Zulkarnain, Manager of Kampung Rambutan Terminal, 381 passengers on 44 long-haul buses have arrived as of this morning.

'We anticipate the number of arrivals could exceed 1,000 by 11 PM," he noted, Monday (1/5).

He explained that arriving passengers are predominantly from West and Central Java, including cities such as Cirebon, Subang, Indramayu, Kuningan, Tegal, Brebes, and Pemalang, as well as parts of Sumatra

"We have seen daily fluctuations during the year-end holidays, but arrivals tallied a high of 1,510 passengers this past Sunday," he explained.

He added, security and health posts are scheduled to stay active until Monday night, with the Ciracas Police transitioning to mobile patrols thereafter.

"We continue to remind passengers to stay within the terminal area when arriving, as a safety precaution during the late-night and predawn rushes," he added.

Among those returning to the capital was Sarya, 35, who arrived Monday following an extended break in Subang, West Java.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), the trip home and the journey back here were very smooth," he stated.
