East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin sent the aid for disaster survivors on Sumatra Island. The aid in the form of rice and clothing came from community donations collected through the East Jakarta PMI.

Munjirin appreciated the concern of the people of East Jakarta who had set aside their fortune to help disaster victims in Sumatra.

"This assistance is expected to ease the burden on disaster survivors," he said, Friday (1/2).

Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta PMI, HR Krisdianto explained the aid sent consisted of three tons of rice, 280 Korans, as well as six sacks and nine boxes of prayer equipment.

"All aid will be combined with aid from the Central PMI and sent via Tanjung Priok Port using a cargo ship on January 4th," he explained.

Krisdianto stated the East Jakarta PMI also sent eight personnel consisting of medical personnel, psychologists, health promotion and logistics officers to assist with handling at the disaster location.
