Thousands of people crowded the historic area of ​​Kota Tua, West Jakarta ahead of the peak of the New Year's Eve celebrations entitled 'From Jakarta with Love', Wednesday (12/31).

The enthusiastic faces of visitors who came not only from Jakarta but also from outside the region were visible. One of them was Riska Amelia (21), a resident of Cikarang. She was willing to travel a long distance to experience the New Year's atmosphere in the capital.

Riska came with her friends to enjoy the 2026 New Year's Eve celebrations. She said the atmosphere is lively and attract many visitors.

"It is very exciting. There is a large audience, with many people from outside Jakarta coming to watch the event," she said, Wednesday (12/31).

She knew about the Jakarta Light Festival from various social media posts featuring light installations and musical entertainment. Her curiosity prompted him to visit the venue.

"We came all the way from Cikarang," she added.

Riska assessed that the Jakarta Provincial Government's New Year's Eve celebrations are also fraught with significance. One of the example is the invitation for visitors to participate in fundraising for disaster victims in Sumatra through QRIS.

"We as fellow human beings must share with each other," she stated.

Riska also expressed her hope that Jakarta would continue to develop and progress, while also providing comfort for all its citizens.

"May Jakarta continue to progress and become more successful. Good job," she hoped.

As for information, Jakarta Light Festival is held in Kota Tua. This free festival features video mapping, light installations, drone performances, and music concerts by several well-known bands. To avoid traffic congestion, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation such as the commuter train (KRL) through Jakarta Kota Station or the Transjakarta service.
