The Jakarta International Velodrome will serve as the backdrop for East Jakarta's year-end festivities tonight. Organized by the local Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency (Parekraf), the event aims to balance celebration with solidarity through a dedicated humanitarian donation drive.
Beyond the music, we are inviting the public to join in a collective prayer
The celebration follows the theme "Jakarta Global City: From Jakarta for Indonesia—Embrace Diversity, Nurture Hope," a nod to the city’s vision of inclusivity. Parekraf Sub-agency Head, Yayang Kustiawan, noted that the program is designed to be more than just a party.
"Beyond the music, we are inviting the public to join in a collective prayer and contribute to relief efforts for those affected by recent disasters," he expressed, Tuesday (12/30).
East Jakarta’s year-end celebration at the Velodrome parking lot is doubling as a major fundraiser for disaster relief in Sumatra and Aceh. Organizers confirmed Monday that the event will combine a star-studded concert with a massive donation drive.
The Lineup: Attendees can expect performances from Badai (ex-Kerispatih), Septi KDI, and Jakarta Koplo, Artefact Band, Band Gondal - gandul, serta Orkes Trotoar Band, etc, starting on the main stage at 3 PM and concluding at 11 PM.
Morning Activities: Doors open at 10 AM for pre-concert events, including free medical services, subsidized markets, and a local bazaar. All proceeds and collected donations will be funneled to regions recently impacted by natural disasters.
Donations for the humanitarian drive can be made by scanning QRIS codes, a collaborative effort between Bank Jakarta and East Jakarta branch of the National Alms Agency (BAZNAS BAZIS).
"QRIS codes will be displayed on LED screens and at various locations throughout the Velodrome area, including on the official event banners," Yayang said.
