many will be on holiday during the New Year
According to the Commander of the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal Team (Danru), Badman Harahap, the large number of travelers after Christmas is because many residents want to celebrate the New Year in their hometowns.
"The flow of homecoming travelers is still high because many will be on holiday during the New Year outside the city or hometown," he said, Monday (12/29).
According to him, there were 12,856 people who departed from this terminal using 1,823 AKAP buses from December 25 - 29.
In the same period, the number of passengers arriving was recorded at 9,658 people using 2,053 AKAP buses.
"It is estimated that the peak of the homecoming flow will occur tomorrow, because students are on holiday until January 4th," he added.
Suprayogi (35), one of travelers heading to Pemalang, admitted he and his family will enjoy the New Year holidays in his hometown.
"Thank God, there's still plenty of school holidays, so we can enjoy a week-long vacation in our hometown," he admitted.
