Jakarta City Council Vice Chairwoman, Rany Mauliani has commended the Christmas Eve Safari attended by state officials and Jakarta government ranks.

Christmas Eve is a moment that Christians highly anticipate every year

She noted that the event served as a pivotal moment to strengthen interfaith solidarity and tolerance.

During the tour, the delegation visited several churches, including the Jakarta Cathedral, GPIB Immanuel, and the Keluarga Kudus Rawamangun Church.

"Joining Jakarta’s top leadership for the Christmas Eve Safari was an incredible experience. It was an evening defined by warmth and a profound sense of interfaith solidarity,” she admitted.

For her, the opportunity to engage directly with worshippers ahead of their services was deeply moving. She noted that a strong spirit of unity prevailed, successfully bridging any communal divides.

"Being able to enter the church with ease and meeting our Christian brothers and sisters as they prepared for Christmas Eve services was a deeply meaningful experience. The leaders also extended their Christmas greetings and best wishes to all Jakartans celebrating,” she continued.

She emphasized that Jakarta is a city defined by its religious and cultural diversity. Therefore, mutual respect and support serve as the essential foundation for communal life.

"Christmas Eve is a moment that Christians highly anticipate every year. Regardless of our faith, we must safeguard one another, uphold tolerance, and participate in the joy of all major religious celebrations,” she said.

She hoped that Christmas Eve services would proceed smoothly, solemnly, and joyfully, even as they are celebrated with simplicity.

“May the peace and love of Christmas grow stronger in Jakarta, and may the Christmas Eve services be safe, sacred, and meaningful,” she added.

On the same occasion, the City Council Secretary, Augustinus, also delivered Christmas and New Year greetings from the Jakarta City Council to the entire Christian community.

"Representing the City Council, we extend our warmest Christmas greetings to all Christians. Hopefully, the worship services go well and that all Jakartans remain in good health,” she stated.
