Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has lauded the Jakarta Information Commission (KI) for its steadfast commitment to promoting public disclosure in the capital.
This is a vital moment for the Jakarta government
According to him, transparency is not merely an administrative obligation, but a vital instrument for building trust between the public and government institutions.
He shared these remarks while attending and presenting awards at the 2025 Public Information Openness (KIP) Awards at Jakarta City Hall, Monday (12/22).
“I laud the Jakarta Information Commission for its steadfast efforts in driving public openness in the city,” he remarked.
This commitment is reflected in the sharp increase in the number of public entities involved, skyrocketing from 519 to 829 this year.
Pramono asserted that openness is fundamental to bridging the gap between the people and public agencies. He hoped, the expansion of public disclosure will continue, making it easier than ever for residents to obtain the information they need from the Jakarta administration.
"This is a vital moment for the Jakarta government and the Information Commission to build public trust in our reporting and administrative affairs,” he explained.
He identified the E-Monev system—an electronic monitoring and evaluation platform—as a critical tool for assessing and realizing the city’s vision for public information transparency.
Pramono underscored that transparency is now a cornerstone of Jakarta’s bureaucratic reform. For instance, he highlighted that the appointment of key officials, including the City Secretary and 2,700 mid-level officers (echelons III and IV), is managed through a rigorous and open merit-based system.
On this occasion, he expressed his appreciation to all award recipients for their dedication and achievements.
"May this accomplishment serve as both inspiration and motivation to build a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable information ecosystem," he hoped.
Highlighting the city’s progress, Jakarta Information Commission Chair Harry Ara Hutabarat reported that E-Monev participation has grown tenfold since 2019, reaching 829 public bodies this year.
He set a bold target of 1,000 participants for 2026 while guaranteeing a fair process.
"The commission ensures an objective and untainted evaluation process, free from any vested interests," he stated.
