A total of 100 MSME booths enliven the Jakarta Christmas Market at Blok M Hub, Melawai, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, held from Saturday (12/20) until Tuesday (12/30).
"I fully support events like this,"
The basement of Blok M Terminal, the event venue, is decorated with Christmas-themed decorations, ranging from colorful lights to fir trees. A photo booth area is also available for visitors.
Ayi Fatmawati (52), owner of the Artha Betawi Craft booth, said this event has been very helpful. She sells various souvenirs such as ondel-ondel dolls, keychains, bracelets, necklaces, bags, and Santa Claus dolls.
There is also an iconic miniature oplet from the TV series "Si Doel Anak Sekolahan" priced at Rp150,000.
"We offer various crafts made from recycled materials, such as wood and fabric scraps," she explained on Sunday (12/21).
As an entrepreneur supported by the Jakarta PPKUKM Agency with an outlet in Cilandak, South Jakarta, she hopes the Jakarta Christmas Market event can help introduce her products to a wider audience.
Similar hopes were expressed by Febriana (25), a booth attendant at Ing Pawon selling various herbal drinks.
Besides introducing herbal drinks in sachet and bottled forms, she hopes the event will also boost her sales.
"I hope sales increase, especially since many people visit the Blok M area on Sundays," she shared.
Meanwhile, Aldita Khoirunissa (24), a visitor from Matraman, East Jakarta, said she just found out about the Jakarta Christmas Market event. Because it looked interesting, she immediately visited several booths.
"I saw food, drinks, handicrafts, fashion, perfumes, and more. It was fun and unique. It made me want to buy something," she said.
According to her, events like this are great because people have many shopping options, and it also helps promote MSME products.
"I fully support events like this," she mentioned.
