Twelve Intellectual Property (IP) characters stole the spotlight at the 2025 Jakarnaval held at Ancol Festival Beach on Saturday (12/20).
"...strengthens the city's image as a creativity-driven global city,"
Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency Head, Andhika Permata, said the presence of 12 local Intellectual Property (IP) characters at the event proves that local creations can grow into beloved creative icons.
According to him, this year's Jakarnaval carried the theme "Parade of Global City Creations", serving as a narrative that underscores Jakarta's role as a dynamic creative ecosystem ready to compete on the global stage.
Andika explained that the theme reflects how Jakarta's cultural energy can be transformed into global potential without losing the city's unique character and identity as its main source of inspiration.
"Jakarnaval is also one of the ways we attract tourists to spend their holidays in Jakarta, while simultaneously boosting the growth of the creative economy sector," he said in a press release received by Beritajakarta Editorial on Sunday (12/21).
The 12 local IPs featured at Jakarnaval 2025 were: yaJe Ka Te, Oplet Si Doel, Mora & Olfi, Bandits of Batavia, Super Neli, Gugug!, Fun Cican Animasi, Cutemonsters by Nindhita, Vernalta, Persija – Macan Kemayoran, Hai Dudu, and Volt by Skylar Comics.
For your information, the 2025 Jakarnaval Parade kicked off at Symphony of the Sea in Ancol, continued along the coastline, and wrapped up at Festival Beach with a festive gathering of all attendees.
The event showcased an array of exciting attractions, from local IP-themed floats and character costumes to cultural shows and live musical performances.
