Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated 11 high-ranking officials under the Jakarta government at the Balai Agung Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall.
This is the first female mayor in 17 years
Of the 11 officials inaugurated, Pramono appointed Iin Mutmainnah as Mayor of West Jakarta. This appointment marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the first female mayor in Jakarta in the last 17 years, following Sylviana Murni, who served as Mayor of Central Jakarta in 2008.
"Out of the eleven officials inaugurated, six are men and five are women. Among them is one female mayor for West Jakarta. This is the first female mayor in 17 years, following Prof. Sylvi," he expressed, Thursday (12/18).
He noted that Iin possesses comprehensive experience across various levels of government. Her career began at the grassroots level as an Urban Village Head and Sub-district Head, rising through the ranks to become City Secretary.
"She has experience as the Deputy Mayor of East Jakarta, then served as the Acting Mayor of East Jakarta, and has also been a City Secretary. From Urban Village to Sub-district head, her career path is very extensive," he explained.
He expressed confidence in her ability to lead West Jakarta toward improvement
Pramono also appointed Premi Lasari as Head of the Jakarta Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD). Historically, this position has always been held by male figures.
He hoped that the presence of female leadership in these strategic positions would transform the face of Jakarta's bureaucracy into a more human-centric institution
"With this composition, I hope that Jakarta's public service will become more flexible, simpler, and more accessible. It is my strong desire to eliminate bureaucratic red tape in Jakarta," he hoped.
He further emphasized that he expects the newly inaugurated officials to perform their duties with full integrity, dedication, and loyalty. He also reminded all officials to collaborate in making Jakarta a safer, more comfortable, and peaceful city.
