Ahead of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays, the East Jakarta Government conducted food safety inspections at several modern markets, led by Mayor Munjirin.
"A ll tested samples were declared safe for consumption and free from harmful substances,"
The inspections targeted Tip Top supermarket on Jalan Pahlawan Revolusi, Pondok Bambu, as well as Farmers Market and Superindo located in the same area.
The activity involved around 50 joint personnel from Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency, Economic Section, Satpol PP, PPKUKM Sub-agency, and local urban village and sub-district officials.
Munjirin stated that food inspections are conducted regularly ahead of the Nataru holidays to ensure food safety and sufficient food stock for the public.
According to him, the samples tested included 21 types of agricultural products and six types of livestock products. After laboratory testing, all samples returned negative results.
"Alhamdulillah, all tested samples were declared safe for consumption and free from harmful substances," he stated, Wednesday (12/17).
However, Munjirin discovered some food products lacking distribution permits on their packaging.
"The distribution permit should be displayed on each package so consumers can feel confident and protected according to standard operating procedures (SOP)," he explained.
Munjirin appreciated supermarket managers who have been selling safe and suitable food products. Collaboration between the government and business actors is crucial to maintaining food safety.
"We will continue to ensure that food products sold in both traditional and modern markets are safe for consumption," he asserted.
Meanwhile, Rahman, Manager of Tip Top Pondok Bambu, expressed gratitude for the inspections conducted by the East Jakarta Government.
He viewed the activity as a form of government concern for trade activities and consumer protection.
"We thank the Mayor and his team for carrying out food safety inspections at Tip Top," he shared.
