The South Jakarta Environment Sub-agency conducted emission tests on 1,937 two- and four-wheeled vehicles. This achievement surpassed the initial 2025 target, which was set at 1,500 vehicles.

This achievement has already exceeded the target of 1,500 vehicles

Pollution Control and Environmental Damage Section Head, Tuty Ernawati Sapardin, stated that the number of vehicles tested has the potential to continue rising until the end of the year.

"This achievement has already exceeded the target of 1,500 vehicles. It is likely to increase further by the end of the year," she expressed, Wednesday (12/17).

Of 1,937 vehicles tested, 340 were recorded in the first quarter, 473 in the second quarter, increasing to 616 in the third quarter, and 508 gasoline and diesel-fueled vehicles underwent emission testing in the fourth quarter.

"1,754 vehicles passed the emission test, while 183 failed," she explained.

She added that free emission testing was held from government offices and sub-district offices to on-the-field law enforcement operations. Additionally, testing was conducted in residential areas upon public request.

"It was conducted in ten sub-districts, as well as in several residential neighborhoods that submitted requests," she clarified.

She hoped that air pollution could be controlled and that public awareness regarding the importance of periodic vehicle maintenance will increase.

"This action will keep being intensified and collaborate with various parties. This includes emission testing within the framework of law enforcement to support air quality improvement in South Jakarta," she asserted
