The Poncol connecting water channel on Jalan Kalibaru Timur, RW 04, Senen District, has been dredging by personnel of Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency since November 14 ago.

Head of Senen District's Water Resources, Zulfahmi said channel dredging is run to respond to local residents' request.

"The dredging involves 14 personnel," he said, Monday (12/15).

He explained the 370-meter-long channel has reached 30 centimeters of mud, making its water capacity less than optimal and frequently causing flooding in the surrounding area.

"The progress reaches 210 meters or about 56.7 percent. It is targeted for completion by mid January 2026," he explained.

Samsudin (42), resident of RW 04 Bungur admitted the impact has been felt already.

"When it rains heavily, the water recedes quickly because the channel capacity is more optimal," he admitted.
