Jakarta's population stood at 11,010,514 in the first semester of 2025. This figure is classified as Clean Population Data (DKB) by the Home Ministry' Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil).
Formulating targeted development policies for Jakarta
Jakarta Dukcapil Agency Head, Denny Wahyu Haryanto noted that the DKB is official data verified through national consolidation. As such, it serves as a key reference for development planning, public services, and strategic policymaking in Jakarta
"Accurate and up-to-date population data serve as a crucial foundation for formulating targeted development policies for Jakarta," he said, Monday (12/15).
He also revealed that the gender composition of Jakarta's population consists of 5,521,290 males and 5,489,224 females.
"This comparison indicates a relatively balanced demographic structure," he stated
His agency facilitates access to official aggregate population data via the 'Dariku Untukmu' and 'PRODUK RW' platforms, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and public information disclosure.
Through these services, the public can access aggregate data ranging from the provincial level down to RW and RT levels. The data includes comprehensive demographic profiles, population growth trends, and generation-based analytics.

"We urge the public to ensure their population administration data remains orderly and aligned with their actual domicile, thereby supporting the provision of accurate and reliable population statistics," he emphasized.
Based on administrative population records, the distribution of residents across Jakarta Province is as follows:
- East Jakarta: 3,224,519 people
- West Jakarta: 2,553,188 people
- South Jakarta: 2,323,644 people
- North Jakarta: 1,828,806 people
- Central Jakarta: 1,049,860 people
- Seribu Islands Regency: 30,497 people
These figures reflect individuals who are administratively registered as residents of Jakarta.
