The Water Resources Unit accelerates the dredging of water channel on Jalan Tanjung Duren Barat II, RT 06/04, Tanjung Duren Utara, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta.

Grogol District's Water Resources Unit Coordinator, Ery Januar said the dredging is part of responding to local residents'requests.

"The mud inside the channel is already thick. It surely triggers the inundation," he said, Thursday (12/11).

He explained the dredging of 500-meter-long channel has been running since last month by involving eight personnel. Up to today, the personnel successfully cleaned 200 sacks of mud.

"It is targeted to complete next week," he explained.

Cahyana (32), a local resident, appreciated the water channel dredging in his area.

"They work fast. Now the channel looks cleaner," he stated.
