Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung immediately visited several students and teachers injured in an accident involving a Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) car, who are currently receiving treatment at Koja Regional General Hospital (RSUD), North Jakarta, Thursday (12/11).
The government will cover the treatment costs
Earlier this morning, an accident involving a food transport car occurred at SDN Kalibaru 01 in Cilincing, North Jakarta. As a result, 21 people were injured in the incident.
Five of them are being treated at Koja RSUD, while six others are at Cilincing RSUD, North Jakarta.
He instructed hospital authorities to immediately provide the best possible care for the victims.
"I am praying earnestly, and I have directly ordered the Koja Hospital Director, as well as the Cilincing Hospital Director, to provide the best service," he expressed.
He urged the hospitals to provide full support for the victims' recovery, expressing hope that they would be treated promptly to prevent their conditions from worsening.
He asserted the Jakarta government will fully cover the medical and healthcare costs for the victims.
"I have just conveyed to two hospital directors, as well as the Health Agency Head, that the government will cover the treatment costs," he explained.
Further, the car usually operates daily at SDN Kalibaru 01. The accident occurred because the driver was unable to control the car's speed.
"There was a change of driver, despite the school gate was closed. The car entered at an uncontrolled speed, striking students, teachers, and others who were present," he explained.
Pramono added that the accident was completely unexpected, considering the school gate was tightly closed. The food delivery car crashed through and struck a group of students and teachers who were gathering for literacy activities.
