Head of Kebon Jeruk District, Agus Mulyadi appreciated the sterilization activity as an effort to handle the cat population.
"The public response was very enthusiastic," he said, Wednesday (12/10).
Agus hopes this activity can continue to be held every year because the benefits are felt directly by the community.
"Thanks to the sub-agency for providing this activity. I believe this activity is very beneficial for the community, especially cat lovers," he added.
Meanwhile, Kebon Jeruk KPKP's Unit Head, Sri Harini explained her side actually provided a quota of 100 cats, but when registration closed the number jumped to 200.
"We continue to strive for optimal service," she explained.
Sri added that there are a number of requirements for cat owners to undergo sterilization, including that the cat must be healthy and of sufficient age, and that the cat must belong to a resident with a Jakarta ID card or reside near the activity location.
"Every cat that has undergone sterilization will be given a mark on its ear (eartip) as a marker so that it will not be sterilized again," she stated.
