A fire ripped through a shophouse and a rented house on Jalan Lapangan Bola, RT 01/07, Srengseng Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-district this morning.

West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Suheri said, the fire was reported at 4 AM.

"We deployed 13 fire trucks and 65 firefighters to the scene," he expressed, Wednesday (12/10).

He explained, the fire on the 200-meter land with four shophouses and two rental houses was extinguished at 4:15 AM. Subsequently, by 4:59 AM, it had entered the cooling phase.

"At 5:26 AM, we extinguished the fire. No casualties in this incident. The fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in the egg tray storage area," he explained.

Meanwhile, a local resident named Ahmadi admitted that the first time he saw the fire, it was already starting to spread from the egg tray storage area.

According to him, the personnel along with the local residents conducted early intervention, but the fire quickly spread and was immediately reported to the personnel at the nearest post.

"The fire suddenly grew rapidly, but the officers arrived quickly and immediately extinguished the fire to prevent it from spreading to other buildings," he stated.
