About 20,613 trees in East Jakarta have been pruned during January to December 2025.

Head of East Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency, Dwi Ponangsera, said his side is routinely pruning trees in 10 districts as an effort to prevent fallen trees incident.

"20,613 trees have been pruned. The effort aims to prevent fallen or broken trees incident," he said, Tuesday (12/9).

According to him, pruning activities are focused on greenbelts, roadsides, medians, and other public areas. Furthermore, his team also conducts regular tree health checks. These checks include rooting, trunk condition, slope, and crown width.

"The aim is to ensure that the condition of the trees remains safe, especially on green belts and along roads with heavy public activity," he added.

Meanwhile, Head Section of Green Line and Cemetery of the sub-agency, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita, explained of 20,613 trees, 2,032 were pruned in January, 1,791 in February, 1,627 in March, 1,768 in April, 1,687 in May, 2,105 in June, 1,914 in July, 1,725 in August, 1,773 in September, 2,079 in October, 1,901 in November, and 211 trees  up to early December.

"Pruning in run every day by deploying ladder car," he explained.
