Tanjung Priok District's Community Health Center held an active case finding (ACF) activity through tuberculosis (TB) screening and chest radiography examination at Danau Sunter RPTRA, Sunter Jaya Urban Village. This free activity was attended by 100 people.

Strengthening promotive and preventive efforts

Head of the Community Health Center, Rosvita Nur Aini said this TB examination is a routine program that is carried out in rotation in each urban village with the aim of detecting TB cases early.

"Strengthening promotive and preventive efforts in the community environment, especially densely populated settlements," she said, Wednesday (12/3).

She explained that officers carry out TB screening, physical examinations, sputum sampling, and chest radiography (lung x-rays).

"We also provide education about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, cough etiquette, and immediately getting checked if they experience symptoms," she explained.

Rosvita hopes that residents will increasingly understand the importance of early detection and play an active role in preventing infectious diseases in their neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, Sunter Jaya Urban Village Head, Eka Persilian Yeluma admitted strongly supports the ACF TB activities to accelerate case detection, provide treatment as early as possible, and break the chain of transmission.

"TB cases in our area are not high," he admitted.

One of the local residents, Tegar Tri Wibowo (20) said he received activity information through local RT.

"This free examination is good for early TB prevention. Thankfully, I tested negative for TB," he said.
