663 Pets in West Jakarta Receive Anti-Rabies Vaccines

West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency has given anti-rabies vaccination to 663 pets.

Head of West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency, Bety Rohmawati, said those pets were vaccinated in November 2025.

"663 pets have received anti-rabies vaccination during November 2025. This free vaccination targets dogs, cats, monkeys and weasels," she said.

Bety detailed those pets were 238 dogs, 420 cats, three monkeys and two weasels.

Those pets came from eight urban villages in West Jakarta namely Keagungan, Pegadungan, Kedaung Kaliangke, Kembangan Utara, Kebon Jeruk, Meruya Selatan, Roa Malaka, and Kota Bambu Selatan Urban Villages.

As part of an effort in maintaining Jakarta as a free rabies city, she added, the sub-agency will also hold free anti-rabies vaccination in several urban villages.

"Not only vaccination, we also provide free cat sterilization to suppress its population," she added.

Bety appealed to pet owners to always be responsible for their own health and their pets, one of which is taking their pets for rabies vaccination.
