The tangled overhead cables at the intersection of Jalan RS Fatmawati Raya toward Jalan TB Simatupang, Cilandak Barat Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta, will soon be placed in an Integrated Utility Network Facility (SJUT).

"...to cut these cables in early December after all the cables in SJUT are fully connected,"

South Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency Head, Rifki Rismal, mentioned that the messy overhead cables are just a temporary condition caused by sidewalk repairs.

"The cables are messy because they're in the process of being moved to the SJUT while sidewalk improvements are underway," he explained on Monday (12/1).

Rifki added that the cables will be cut, but only after the replacement cables have been moved to SJUT.

"The plan is to cut these cables in early December after all the cables in SJUT are fully connected," he shared.

He emphasized that once the entire process is complete, the area will look neat again, especially since there will be no overhead cables around the location.

"We apologize if the area looks untidy because of the tangled cables. Hopefully, the cable connection process will finish soon," he expressed.

Meanwhile, local resident Rahman hopes the cable relocation will be completed soon. Although the cables don't block pedestrian access, they still look hazardous if touched.

"I hope it finishes soon. Once the cables are moved underground, this place will definitely look neater," he said.
