As many as 11 personnel of Cakung District's  Water Resources personnel, East Jakarta, are deployed to dredge a water channel on the east side of Jalan Tipar, RT 05/09, Cakung Barat Urban Village.

Head Unit of Cakung District's Water Resources, Dian Nur Cahyono said the dredging of this micro channel is responding to local residents' requests.

He said that the water channel is filled with mud and rubbish sedimentation with a thickness of around 45 centimeters, so it is unable to accommodate high volumes of water during heavy rain.

"The dredging has been running since November 14 and is targeted for completion on December 4, 2025," he said, Thursday (11/27).

The 60-centimeter-high and 80-centimeter-wide water channel is dredged for 50 meters. The work is carried out manually.

Meanwhile, member of LMK RW 09, Cakung Barat Urban Village, Ahmad Saugi Sahab appreciated the unit for responding to resident's request.

"Hopefully this channel can effectively prevent flooding in this area," he hoped.
