The construction of Lapangan Merah Reservoir on Jalan Kesatuan RT 011/07, Srengseng Sawah Urban Village, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta has been completed.

South Jakarta Mayor, Anwar said the reservoir is constructed to prevent flooding in the surrounding area. Furthermore, it is a government effort to provide a comfortable and safe interaction space for residents.

"The reservoir will be launched soon by the Governor," he said, Tuesday (11/25).

Anwar added that with the completeness of the existing facilities, this reservoir is also expected to provide broad benefits to residents.

"I appeal that once it's opened and operational, the public take good care of it. Use it for its intended purpose, and don't misuse it for negative purposes ," he appealed.

Meanwhile, Head of South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency, Santo explained that the 8,261 square meter Lapangan Merah Reservoir, which was built in April 2025, is equipped with various attractive facilities. 

The facilities include a jogging track, outdoor gym, composting area, fishing deck, children's play area, park, place of worship, and so on.

"We hope that the reservoir crossed by the UI Connecting Channel can overcome the problem of flooding that occurs in the surrounding area and provide benefits for residents in their daily activities, especially exercise," he hoped.
