North Jakarta Mayor, Hendra Hidayat reviewed the operational of Pluit Reservoir Pump House on Jalan Muara Baru Ujung, RW 16, Penjaringan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district. The visit was made to ensure an optimum flood handling system.

Hendra said as a coastal area, North Jakarta faces not only the potential for flooding due to the rainy season but also high tides. Therefore, it is important to ensure that all equipment, personnel, and pumping stations in North Jakarta are in good condition.

"Facing this rainy season, it's crucial that all personnel and control facilities are ready. I also appreciate all the troops who are on standby 24/7," he said, Monday (11/24).

Hendra added that the North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency is currently addressing the issue of embankment seepage. Repairs have been underway since 2024 and will continue through 2027 through a multi-year program.

"We ensure that the security and comfort of North Jakarta residents are truly maintained ," he added.

Head of North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency, Heria Suwandi stated Pluit Reservoir is a vital infrastructure for Jakarta, not only for the northern area but also the city center.

"We are ready for all situations, both in terms of pump operational readiness, reservoir conditions, and human resources readiness," he stated.

According to him, the Pluit Reservoir has 10 pumps located on the west, central, and east sides. This equipment is managed by 16 operators on call 24/7.

"We ensure that the pump, SOP, and reservoir conditions are always in a ready position," he admitted.
