To bring together drivers and changers in the sports industry
The Youth and Sports Ministry (Kemenpora) is ready to hold the Indonesia Sports Summit (ISS) 2025 from December 6 to 7 at Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Complex (GBK).
This event is a strategic step to strengthen the direction of national sports industry development by involving various parties and stakeholders related to sports, especially those involved in the sports industry.
Youth and Sports Minister, Erick Thohir, stated that this event will be an important momentum in building a progressive, inclusive, and globally competitive sports ecosystem.
"This event is held to bring together drivers and changers in the sports industry. Representatives from athletes, policymakers, investors, entertainers, and innovators will meet in a platform to build a sustainable and world-renowned future for the national sports industry," he expressed, (11/12).
He explained that various agendas will be held at ISS 2025, including panel discussion forums on sports economy and investment opportunities, exhibition and industry pavilion as cross-sector collaboration spaces, partnership and matchmaking to facilitate cooperation between the government and the private sector.
Aside that, the Experience Zone will present sports technology innovations, along with a job fair offering career opportunities in the sports field.
"This implementation aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's mandate to make the sports sector drive the economic ecosystem. It also serves as a solution to employment issues by holding job fairs and empowering the best talents of the nation," he added.
He hoped that this format could broaden horizons and encourage new ways of thinking within the national sports industry.
He assessed, the ISS is also intended to serve as a meeting point for industry movers and reformers in sports, with six main pillars consisting of policymakers, sport enthusiasts, innovation and technology, entertainment, investors, and athletes.
"One of our main focuses is strengthening sustainable sports infrastructure and optimizing the potential of sports as an engine for the economy and social development. From the field, from the stands, from strategic spaces, all to build the Red and White from the sports industry sector," he explained.
He stated that this is not just a discussion forum but also an entry point for investment, innovation, and human resource development that will strengthen the foundation of Indonesia's sports industry future.
Through inter-ministerial cooperation, public assets in various regions are expected to have added value through the implementation of sports activities, sport tourism, and other sports industry events.
"As a national sports event, ISS 2025 is open to the general public. Therefore, the community is invited to come and participate in making ISS 2025 a success for a better future of Indonesian sports. Moreover, this event will also be attended by world sports figures," he stated.
