Prompt response was shown to assist the survivors of the fire that destroyed three houses on Jalan Ampel, RT 08/07, Lubang Buaya Urban Village, Cipayung Sub-district, East Jakarta.

This aid can ease the burden of residents

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Agata Bayu Putra said, the aid distribution is conducted as a follow-up to the village proposal considering all fire survivors require basic needs to be met.

"The aid handover was conducted symbolically to the residents in the presence of the urban village, sub-district, and local RT/RW administrators. Besides us, the aid also came from the Social Agency and Social Ministry," he expressed, Monday (11/10).

He explained the aid provided was food packages, such as rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, sweet soy sauce, biscuits, sardines, mineral water, and goodie bags.

There was also clothing aid, including blankets, daily clothes, prayer garments, sarongs, sandals, and even supplies for children and adults, such as sanitary pads and diapers.

"And household cleaning supplies such as brooms, mops, dustpans, liquid soap, shampoo, and floor cleaner," he explained.

He added the Jakarta Social Agency provided food aid packages, and the Ministry of Social gave one kids' clothing package to families of survivors with children.

East Jakarta PMI Public Relations and Communication Section Head, Agus Bastian stated, he also supplied aid consisting of four packages of basic necessities, four mats, four blankets, a cooking set package, and a school kit.

"Hopefully, this aid can ease the burden of residents who are experiencing a calamity," he hoped.

The action received appreciation from RT 07/08 Chairman, Lubang Buaya Urban Village, Lukman.

"This aid is very helpful. We thank all parties, including the Social Service Agency Social Agency, Ministry of Social, and PMI, who have helped our community," he added.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency's Fire Operation Officer, the fire occurred on Sunday (11/9) around 2:30 AM.

"We deployed seven fire engines and 35 personnel to the scene. Fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit," he said.
