Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung affirmed that the Jakarta Provincial Government will cover all medical costs for the victims of the SMAN 72 Jakarta explosion in North Jakarta.

"The Jakarta Government is truly saddened by the incident that occurred at SMAN 72 during Friday prayers,"

Following his visit to the injured at Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital on Friday (11/7), Pramono stressed that the government would do its part to alleviate the victims' hardship.

 

"The Jakarta Provincial Government will take full responsibility for all hospital-related expenses. Regardless of where the treatment takes place, whether in this hospital or another, it will still fall under the government's responsibility," said Pramono.

He added that the city government extends its deepest condolences over the incident. He has instructed the heads of Education Agency and Health Agency, as well as North Jakarta Mayor to ensure proper treatment for all victims.

"The Jakarta Government is truly saddened by the incident that occurred at SMAN 72 during Friday prayers," he expressed.

According to him, 55 people were injured in the explosion. He spoke with several victims during his hospital visit. As for the cause of the explosion, Pramono said it would be handled by the police.

"The details of the incident fall entirely under police authority. Including the number of victims, what actually happened, and so on," he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, stated that the investigation is ongoing, and no further information can be released at this time.

"We will provide an explanation once our field team has gathered all the necessary materials and data," he said.

He explained that the team is currently conducting sterilization and collecting evidence at the scene. The findings will be shared with the public once the investigation progressed.
