review budget movements in each commission
Chairman of Jakarta City Council, Khoirudin said adjustments need to be made following the reduction in Revenue Sharing Funds (DBH) from the central government, which reduced Jakarta's total budget from Rp 95.35 trillion to Rp 81.2 trillion.
"This meeting is to review budget movements in each commission. There will be some changes due to the reduction in DBH. However, I assure that public services, such as the KJP, KJMU, transportation services, and the environment, will not be reduced," he said.
Although key public services remain intact, Khoirudin revealed that budget adjustments were made to Commission A and Commission D, following field analysis that identified a number of urgent needs requires immediate action.
He stated that there was a budget increase of around Rp 550 billion from the total 2026 Regional Budget of Rp 81.2 trillion to meet these needs.
"We will seek a joint solution in tomorrow's meeting with the executive to realize the results of the council members' recess. This is related with society needs," he stated.
Khoirudin gave example that the additional budget will be used to repair environmental roads, water channels, public street lights, and add cemetery land.
"This cemetery is an urgent need. If residents need burial sites, we must provide solutions," he admitted.
